Asking For The Moon

(Chapin Hartford/George Teren)

The fences are mended, the bills are all paid
And I feel kinda guilty for feeling this way
For all you that you give me and all that you do
I can't help missing the romantic moments I once had with you

Chorus:
I'm only asking for the moon
The stars in your eyes
One of those nights when you hold me close to you
I'm not asking for much, a kiss or a touch
Nothing thats hard to do
I'm only asking for the moon

It won't cost a penny
You don't have to go far
Who needs to see Paris
When we can find heaven in our own back yard

(Repeat Chorus)

I need you to hold me close like you used to do
I'm only asking for the moon
